چکیده

The experiment was carried out on 90 dairy cows in the period from 6 weeks before calving up to 305th day of lactation. The animals randomly divided into 3 groups were fed with diets containing different chemical forms of zinc, manganese and copper applied in mineral mixtures. The control group received these trace elements as sulphates, but in experimental groups 20 or 30% of daily needs were covered by chelated forms. Cows receiving 30% of needed Zn and Mn (each 315 mg/day) and Cu (63 mg/day) in amino acids-bound forms were characterized by higher (6.5%) milk production than the control animals. In these cows also a decrease of somatic cell contents in milk (34%) was observed. The application of chelated forms of trace elements to the diets given to animals affected positively the total immunoglobulins amount in colostrum and in blood serum of new-born calves. The significant (P≤0.05) increase of both zinc and copper levels in blood of cows receiving organicallybound Zn, Mn and Cu was stated.

Effect of the application of bioplexes of zinc, copper and manganese on milk quality and composition of milk and colostrum and some indices of the blood metabolic profile of cows

The object of an experiment was inorganic and organic forms of zinc, copper and manganese applied in mineral mixtures to dairy cows. The experiment was carried out on 90 cows with average milk yield for previous lactation of about 9 500 kg milk. The cows received mineral mixtures containing inorganic or organic forms of zinc, copper and manganese for 6 weeks before calving and during the first ...

Variability in mineral and trace element content of dairy cattle feeds.

Trace element content of feeds is extremely variable compared to total digestible nutrients or protein. Differences are wide between low and high values for many trace elements within a given type of feed. Coefficients of variation for forages range from 42 to 100%. Summary data are given for both major and trace elements. Problems in supplementation are discussed. Amounts for some elements are...

Cheated Minerals in Animal Nutrition

Chelating is the chemical process by which a mineral (iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, and manganese) is combined with a mixture of amino acids and peptides. The resulting substances are known as chelates. Another descriptive term, proteinates, refers to the amino acid bond. These chelated minerals are thought to be more digestible than nonchelated forms. In other words, chelation makes the minerals...

Most of the work which has been done on trace elements in soils has been in relation to deficiency or toxicity effects on plants. Although a certain amount of work has been reported on the effects of trace elements on ammonification and nitrification in soils 12 a 4 5 6 the results obtained are conflicting. Trace elements may be introduced into soil where pesticide sprays e.g. copper fungicides...
